On December 14th, the UK Government announced a series of updates on hydrogen projects.
David Parkin, HyNet Project Director at Progressive Energy said:
“‘We are delighted with Government’s package of hydrogen announcements made today which reinforce the centrality of the sector in our low carbon energy system.
“The targets and allocation strategies set out for hydrogen production, and some further steps on hydrogen transport and storage business models, are helpful as the hydrogen sector pushes forward to unlock new investment and jobs.
“HyNet will produce, distribute, store and use hydrogen. The organisations developing this infrastructure are all lined up and ready to go, subject to acceleration of the business models.
“We look forward to working with Government on this and moving HyNet into the next phase of its development as soon as possible to ensure the UK continues to be at the forefront of the global hydrogen economy.”
