HyNet are thrilled to see Heidelberg Materials UK’s Padeswood carbon capture project be granted planning permission by Planning and Environment Decisions Wales.
With the ability to lock away 800,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, Padeswood is looking to become the UK’s first net zero cement works, playing a vital role in decarbonising an essential industry.
Simon Willis, CEO, Heeidelberg Materials UK said, “Cement is essential to the UK’s transition to net zero. It is fundamental to the development of everything from new offshore wind farms, to nuclear power stations, to low carbon infrastructure, and the thousands of green jobs that these projects will create.”
